Best Supplements for the Gym in 2025

I've been testing a bunch of different supplements for my gym routine this year, and these four are my favorites. Here's my take on what's been working best for me in 2025.

I really like creatine. It just feels like an easy no-brainer supplement you can add to your routine and see benefits. If I could only take one supplement, it might be this one.

In the Gym

For me, it has definitely delivered on its gym promises. I feel like I can get more out of my sessions - pushing higher max weights and squeezing out a couple more reps than I usually do. It provides a consistently better performance.

Fuller Muscles

I also notice that my muscles look and feel fuller when I'm taking creatine consistently. It's like having that post-gym pump, even on days I haven't worked out. This happens because creatine pulls more water into your muscle cells.

Brain Benefits

Creatine isn't just for the gym though. There's more and more talk about how it helps with cognitive performance too - memory, focus, and fighting mental fatigue. I'm not 100% sure about the memory claims, but it definitely helps with my focus and mental energy, especially later in the workday when I'd normally feel zapped out.

The Ingredient Mix

This is one of my absolute favorite pre-built stacks. It's built around Cistanche for energy, testosterone, libido, and muscle growth. Also has Shilajit for more energy and testosterone, Pregnenolone to help with mood and anxiety, and DHEA for hormone production and energy.

What It Does

Energy, hormones, and muscle growth - I think it delivers a noticeable boost in all three areas. Between the energy and hormone support, this might be my favorite gym supplement. I have more energy for my sessions, and I feel like I can push myself harder on this stuff.

Gym Performance

I love pairing this one with Black Ginger. I feel like I get a way more noticeable pump after a gym session when I use this combo. The effects just seem to complement each other really well.

Increased Hunger

One unexpected effect is hunger - I feel like I can put down a largeeee amount of food on this supp. That can be either good or bad depending on what you're going for. If you're bulking or just need lots of calories to fuel frequent workouts? CistaMAX is perfect. Probably not the best if you're on a cut.

I've been taking this either as a pre-workout or just in the morning before work. Both ways seem to work well. You get this energy boost that actually lasts - where I'd normally start dragging through afternoon tasks, I find myself still focused and getting things done.

What I really like about this one is that you get an energy boost without feeling anxious or jittery. It's more like... things just feel easier to start and finish. Those tasks I'd normally put off? I just find myself doing them without the usual mental battle.

Cycling

Taking a day or two off each week seems to keep the effects pretty consistent. I also like to cycle between CistaMAX and Tribugen to ensure that I don't lose the benefits by taking too much of one of them.

Along with staying warm, I've noticed better circulation overall. This has made daily activities more comfortable, especially in winter. The libido boost has been pretty significant too - probably due to the improved blood flow effect.

Workout Benefits

Black ginger is great for the gym. The warming effect makes it easy to get a sweat going and the blood flowing. I feel like I get a better "pump" on black ginger, as well as a boost to my endurance and strength when taking this.

Side Notes

I did notice some increased sweating, due to the thermogenic effect. Also, during the first week, I had some trouble sleeping. I took melatonin at first to help out, but now that I'm more adjusted to the black ginger, that's not really necessary anymore.

My Overall Take

These four supplements have made real differences in my gym performance this year. If I had to rank them for beginners, I'd say start with creatine - it's just the most proven and reliable option out there. From there, think about what you need most:

  • Testosterone / strength support, and an increased hunger that can help fuel workouts - CistaMAX
  • Improved blood flow with thermogenic effects - Black Ginger

My personal favorite combo is CistaMAX + Black Ginger for gym days, with creatine as my everyday basic supplement. Experiment and see what works best for your body and goals!
